They don't tell you this but getting gay married in a videogame as a teenager is a slippery slope to finding queer love in real life
Cyberpunk 2077 is a miracle in terms of optimization because no matter what you play on, it will always just barely hold a stable 30fps. Low end mobile hardware? 30fps. High end desktop gaming rig? Also 30 fps. NASA supercomputer? You guessed it, 30fps.

"video to show just how easy it was" to steal a car that was unlocked, running, with the keys in the ignition

Yeah I mean I'm gonna assume it was pretty easy
There is something so deeply, deeply Minnesotan about these sorts of posts (which I see every winter). If you're from almost anywhere else and wondering if you're missing something: this person did in fact leave their car running, unlocked, keys in the ignition.

One of the dumber intrusive thoughts I get regularly is thinking about just saying the meanest or rudest things I can think of to a person for no reason. Then I just start feeling guilty for some shit I didn't even say

The US has a law called the Hague Invasion Act where the president can invade Europe if any American is ever charged with a war crime and arrested by the ICC. Pete hegseth will never go to the hague. He deserves to of course but it will never happen.

LLMs are bad but the problem with them is not in fact that you could use them to learn about science which you could in turn use to do something bad. The info they're trained on is public anyway.

“No weather related light rail delays” = we need more light rail and tram services. They do much better in bad weather than busses ever can.
4:00 PM Winter weather service update: 49% of buses are experiencing delays, with an average delay of about 9 minutes. There are currently no weather-related light rail delays, and no routes on snow reroute. metrotransit.org/snow -JN

I like the idea of steamOS as much as the next nerd but pretending that the anticheat compatibility thing isn't gonna be a big deal in terms of its success because "it's only a few games anyway" is straight up delulu.

Faith of the Heart enjoyers you gotta listen to this one
Society is a construct. You can just ask someone to do a ska cover of Faith of the Heart and they'll say "$300 please" and you give it to them and then you have it.

Everyone, give

One thing I always need to point out is that if a cop thinks you might have a gun (which is your constitutional right) they can kill you and will be prosecuted but if they threaten to murder you with one you have no recourse
If I pointed a loaded assault rifle at someone in the street with the obvious intent of intimidating them, I would be arrested and charged with assault (or worse).

I think it was @derzquist.net who said yesterday is gonna be a sea change in terms of how St. Paul sees the SPPD, and, yeah man, people in St. Paul are FUCKING PISSED in all sorts of new and exciting ways over this.

I'm not glad they're here but to be honest I knew it was coming and I was getting sick of waiting. People who know me feel free to harass me if there's stuff going down that you need my help with in the coming months and years

We have got to collectively help people understand that of course the local* cops are acting as an arm of the machine. That is their purpose.

People need to grow their minds & grieve what they've been conditioned to believe about cops being there to help/serve/protect.

Trigger warnings but this is the kind of stuff the local PD are eagerly & enthusiastically doing at their first perceived opportunity.

I know some people know good people in all kinds of professions, but being passive to this/part of this is not being good. Far from it.
She said she saw federal agents arrest a person, dropping them “head first into the sidewalk. I don’t know what sound your head is supposed to make when it hits the cement like that, but we all heard the crack.” She said the person was clearly injured during the arrest.
