Ohio only permits one ballot dropbox per county, so the grace period for mailing a ballot is a key convenience for those who cannot easily access a dropbox. Mail voting is particularly popular among older voters and those with disabilities.
Ohio Bans Grace Periods for Mail Ballots, Fulfilling Trump’s Wishes
Ohio is the fourth GOP-run state this year to ban ballots that are postmarked by Election Day but arrive after. A Supreme Court case could force that policy nationwide next year.

It's funny that everyone who has *ever* programmed, knows how important attention to detail is. Hours wasted because you made a typo, forgot to add a character, etc.

The tiniest thing you literally don't notice is wrong, and your program screams at you and dies.

This is a universal experience.

I wrote a little thing about "Fairytale of New York" and about hope for a better year, but mostly I wanted to share the rendition of the song played at Shane MacGowan's funeral in 2023 because it's so beautiful. Happy Christmas, I love ya baby. dansinker.com/posts/2025-1...

I hadn’t actually looked up the price until now, but yeah, it turns out my child’s favorite cheese is $25/pound. She’s 8.

We can never afford to own 2 cars. Our cheese budget simply won’t allow it.
The other week, I took my kid to the dentist on the bus and then she ate $25/pound cheese for an after school snack.

I like being an uncle for the holidays because: Mom and dad are responsible, and will discipline you. Grandpa and Grandma are indulgent, and will coddle you. But the uncle... the uncle is unpredictable. The niece and nephew cannot know what the uncle will do, because the soul of the uncle is CHAOS

There Is No Mary Problem in ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’
George’s vision of his wife without him is essential to the film, but critics continue to miss its true—and profound—meaning.

And there goes MAGA’s latest talking point.
Bill Clinton just called on Trump to release the full Epstein Files, including all documents mentioning both Trump and Clinton.

“Refusal to do so will confirm the widespread suspicion the DOJ’s actions to date are not about transparency, but about insinuation.”

“Vice signalling” should be word of the year.
I know we're used to it, when you look at Trump's horrific post about Rob Reiner today, you do still ask yourself: Why? What could possibly be gained from this?

I wrote about the defining characteristic of Donald Trump and all his flunkies: Vice Signaling.

The thing about measles is that it’s the only known virus that triggers immune amnesia - it causes your immune system to forget everything it has previously learned. Meaning you essentially reset to zero and are now at risk of basically everything.

It can take 2-3 years to get immunities back.
