(She/Her/Hers) 26, I am a biomedical engineer, crochet-er, sew-er(?), and painter. I also have a cat, Ellie. 🐈
Working on the Darjeeling Tea Shawl pattern using some Halloween Dahlia yarn. Using two yarn cakes and not even getting close to halfway is having me nervous but we are already this far. 🙃

Yep, and right before he was shot he blamed trans people for mass shootings and then in response to a question about the total number of mass shootings goes "counting or not counting gang violence?" The crack lands like a punctuation mark

The people wondering "how could anyone who isn't a professional escape after a high profile daylight assassination" are forgetting two things:

1. Cops are bad at their jobs

2. The FBI used to be somewhat better at their jobs and were recently gutted by political layoffs

Remembering MN house speaker Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark and their beloved dog Gilbert. Murdered in June at their home by a rightwing Trump-voting evangelist, who also shot another MN lawmaker and his wife at THEIR home, 9 and 8 times, respectively (miraculously, they survived).

This is the way to cover the man’s death - in context of the life he led and the words he spoke.

He was struck down as he was engaged in racist distraction from the issue of mass shootings. He was literally in the process of deflecting blame onto people of color.

No one should compare Charlie Kirk to a Nazi.

Much better to state outright that he was a Nazi.
Trump: "For years those on the radical left have compared wonderful Americans like Charlie to Nazis. This kind of rhetoric is directly responsible for the terrorism we're seeing in our country & it must stop right now. My admin will find each and every one of those who contributed to this atrocity"

rightwing media ecosystem operates by stoking hatred and anger and divisions every single day, they want people to constantly be afraid and want people to hate eachother, everything we are seeing is a result of the destablization the right has profited off of

"clearing out homeless encampments" is the dumbest fascism-lite non-solution to homelessness, I can't believe it's treated with any credibility. It treats homelessness as a purely aesthetic problem, those unsightly encampments, without any thought to the people there. it's textbook dehumanization

He really is Patrick Bateman. He spends a lot of time with his hair slicked back, coolly fighting the other side in a fashionable way, and then at night he runs out to furiously throw some homeless person’s last picture of their family into a garbage can.

Old Soviet joke for today:

A man walks into a newsstand every day, looks around, and leaves.

After a long time of this, the owner says “Can I help you find something?”

“I’m looking for the obituaries.”

“The obituaries are in the back of the newspaper, comrade.”

“Not the one I’m looking for.”

Every reputable expert I know considers mRNA vaccine technology to be one of the most revolutionary advances in medicine in our lifetimes. Its inventors won the Nobel Prize in 2023. Shutting it down now is pointless self-harm to humanity.
Release from HHS: HHS will wind down its development of the mRNA vaccine development activities under the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA).
