a wealth tax is a winning issue.
"For the first time, a majority of Americans believe billionaires are a threat to democracy. A remarkable 71 percent believe there should be a wealth tax. A majority believe there should be a cap on how much wealth a person can accumulate."

It’s so cool that every website is just Like This now. We used to send guys to the chair for putting pop-up ads on their sites. Now if I want to read something I have to read single lines between autoplaying video ads that use so much RAM they force the browser to reload every 5 seconds.

must… resist urge… to correct the menswear guy… on the difference between a punt and a field goal… before he finds old pictures of me and sends my fashion sense to the shadow realm…
this feels like that peanuts gag where lucy sets a football for a punt and you can't believe charlie brown fell for it

Snakes on a Plane on opening night! Never before or since has going to a movie felt so much like going to a party.

Somebody brought a probably 12-foot-long snake toy that was crowd surfing in the front couple of rows.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

I'll use this as an opportunity to say: hey it was weird that a bunch of Resident Evil games for years included a big boat!

Gaiden (2001; on a boat)
Dead Aim (2003; on a boat)
5 (2009; two boats!)
Revelations (2012; on a boat)
6 (2012; partially on a big boat)
7 (2017; partially on a big boat)
Taking aim with today's #RandomGameSaturday with Resident Evil: Dead Aim!

It's zombies on a boat. Not the first time the series used that concept and certainly not the last, it doesn't take itself particularly seriously and I find it more charming to play than Revelations. Fun with a Guncon too.

Honestly? Kind of a power move.
On the plane, guy next to me taps the screen in the seat in front of him, loads up Jurassic World Rebirth, and slides the timeline tracker 3/4ths of the way through, and just starts watching without headphones.

Me: Oh have you seen this movie before?

Him: No.

Will Arnett was on Conan and told a story about how Conan dealt with the death of his parents by accusing Jason Bateman of killing them. It’s so funny.

I love this number, and I love the simple production magic. Just imagine the folks rocking the stationary truck crammed full of performers as fake snow blows & someone swings branches in front of camera...

You are ABSOLUTELY NOT going to regret listening to this bird:
A male rock ptarmigan (Lagopus muta) in winter plumage.

Ptarmigan is from Gaelic 'tarmachan' meaning "croaker". The p- was added when people mistakenly assumed it was a Greek word.

A bird forever warning people: "A werewolf!" (just in case of werewolves).

I'm still skeptical of Pritzker (I mean, he is A: a politician and B: a billionaire) but, like, I'm way LESS skeptical of him than any of the other Dem hopefuls because he's doing the work and they aren't.
like, Pritzker talks about wanting to fight for trans people; he passes policies to help trans people. I'm pretty sure he'd make rolling back this anti trans shit a priority.
