Just a warning: The next two months of the mayoral race is going to be the height of intolerable as a bunch of bad faith media outlets try to make the race closer than it is, Cuomo not as awful as he is, and Mamdani more extreme than he is.

His administration is literally composed of men who beat and batter women.
Trump: "My administration will not stand by and watch men beat and batter female athletes. And it's gonna end, and it's ending right now, and nobody is gonna be able to do a damn thing about it, because when I speak, we speak with authority."

the people who are in charge are not successfully navigating you out of the major crises of our era, and existing systems (and even existing methods of resistance) aren’t the answer.

this is the thing -- Trump's press conference (in which he insisted that the previous admin was to blame) just ended. the right time for Democrats to be on the air, including YouTube streams, countering his bullshit is right now. the next best time is about a minute from now.
If Democrats don't educate people on Trump's first week air safety recklessness, the vast majority of people will come away hearing only Republicans blaming DEI.

Some things you can do. No one can do all these things, but most people can do at least one:

Feed people. There's work for you at Food Not Bombs or whatever you got going on where are.
Join a local cop watch, ICE watch, or rapid response group.
Who's being targeted in your area? Have their back.

Schumer and everyone else in the Democratic party who wants to Vichy their way through the next four years should just retire and GTFO. The moment is bigger than all of you and you should turn your seat over to a Democrat with a spine.
Some intel: I've talked to journalists and folks on the Hill about this. Last night after OMB's action, some Senate Dems tried to unify the caucus to vote against Duffy. Schumer, among others, opposed it, and it flopped.

The current Dem leadership strategy is to use strong language but not do shit.
Yesterday, every Democrat voted to advance Sean Duffy (DOT)'s nomination.

In protest against Trump's unconstitutional freezing of federal funds, 22 Democrats voted NO on confirmation today.

Glad to see more demonstrated urgency. But that 22 should be 47.

One does wonder how the US military feels about potentially being asked to battle Canada, Mexico, and NATO at the same time by a gibbering madman who vocally shits on soldiers and veterans all the time
I honestly wonder what the effect will be from soldiers en masse saying “we’re doing what now?”

By 51-50, we now have a deeply compromised, unqualified, D-list Fox host running the US military at the command of a convicted felon who once hosted a reality show.

The corollary to "don't obey in advance" is "don't obey more than you have to" - do the minimum legally required, and make them fight you for everything else
Here's the thing about the Tuskegee Airmen history - there was nothing in the EO about it. Someone in the Air Force interpreted it that way -- which is far worse.
