The image of gun ownership in America has been white, rural and Republican, but that's been changing as more liberals and minorities have been buying guns, especially after the 2024 election.

Almost everyone with a high level of racial resentment tended to vote for Trump in the 2024 election, regardless of educational attainment. Conversely, those with a low racial resentment score tended to support Harris, whether they had a college degree or not.

It really is so simple as "evangelical Christianity is a veneer for white identity politics".
Yes, Trump dominates among the *white* working class (if defined as people without a college degree). But even here, religion played a key role: In 2024, about 86 percent of non-college white evangelicals voted for Trump – vs. only a minority of the non-evangelical white working class.

I see this talking point often and it comes from the research that shows that states with looser CCW laws tend to see more gun violence.

But those states also have looser purchase laws, and the existing research doesn't attempt to disentangle those two phenomenon.
If Congress passes a national concealed carry mandate, anyone you see could have a gun on them—and the police would be powerless to protect you.

Leaders must stand up for public safety and put a stop to the gun lobby’s dangerous agenda.

People have a good reason to resist acknowledging the male loneliness crisis. They correctly perceive that women are being blamed and told to fix it.

But the real cause is predatory capitalists who profit on keeping men isolated and online.

It seems increasingly likely a lot of the epic freakout over young men's right turn (based in part on the swing towards Trump in '24) was significantly a compositional effect. It wasn't a swing right. Enough lefty 18-29s sat it out that it looked like a swing right in the two way. Flatland kills.
Those claiming Dems should retreat on racial justice aren't hard-headed realists, they're pushing against the electoral tide rather than leaning into it. The story of Gen Z isn't about racist backlash or red-pilled young men. It's the most racially progressive generation in American history. 🧵

It's a good thread. In some ways I feel like it shouldn't have to be said that Epstein and his brother talking via email about photos of Trump fellating "Bubba's" dick doesn't mean this was a real thing that happened and there are real photos of it, but I guess it does.
Okay I didn’t have time today to say this when it came up, but about the allegations that there is photographic evidence of Trump performing fellatio on Clinton….
