puts into context the pro-bishop articles over the last few weeks. which reporters are on the leash?

too many are frothing so hard for the sad little parlor games that pass for intrigue in NZ that they abrogate their responsibilities as journalists and overtly take sides - often against the public

I wouldn't put too much stock in what Luke "I love Luxon" Malpass has to say. He's worked for the pro-Atlas Initiative; his political coverage is known for being very anti-left.

He's v good at his job and some of you are falling far too easily for his hook and are playing right into his spin.

Zohran Mamdani: "We're gonna make this a city that doesn't just protect trans kids, but also celebrates and cherishes them."

I just want to remind everyone, again, that before you start talking about smug shitlibs like Gavin Newsom as inevitable “because no one else will stand up to Trump”: nobody had heard of Zohran Mamdani a year ago, and heretofore, nobody has humiliated DJT as effortlessly. life comes at you fast

Some opposition MP should put a "Regulatory Standards Act Repeal Bill" into the biscuit tin, approach the NZ First backbench MPs to sign on in support of it, and then see what happens if it gets pulled from the lottery ... NZ First didn't promise not to vote to repeal it once enacted!
Winston Peters vows to repeal Regulatory Standards Bill; David Seymour hits back
"We did our best to neutralise its adverse effects and we will campaign at the next election to repeal it," Peters told Radio Waatea.

Willis uses the word "doolally"

My grandmother used to use that in the 1970s.

I don't use it anymore because it's a deeply colonial bullshit way of insulting someone's mental health.

Willis likely thinks it's quaint.

authors you have the chance to do the funniest thing right now
AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.
Authors celebrate “historic” settlement coming soon in Anthropic class action
