Stephen Miller said the quiet part out loud. Trump has “plenary authority,” then suddenly went silent. Their plan wasn’t to be public yet. Clearly, someone hit the panic button in his earpiece.

It gets weirder: CNN uploaded the interview with the “plenary authority” comment edited out.

Everyone can set aside partisanship, psychologizing, pathologizing, whatever, and—I would hope—still see that it’s incredibly dangerous for a political leader to be this disconnected from the real conditions in the country.

Trump: "I don't know what could be worse than Portland. You don't even have stores anymore. They don't even put glass up. They put plywood on their windows."

New Orleans. But I'm not sure that counts, because it's true for basically every English word in that town.

If you are a woman or female presenting in the Valley look out for a man with glasses and this plate. Took it off a TikTok video in which LITERALLY HUNDREDS of women reported him asking for help moving a box from his backseat to his trunk with a fake bandage around his arm, something Ted Bundy did.

as a kid growing up right-wing i regularly heard people express their desire for "a government so small I can drown it in the bathtub". imagine my surprise growing up to realize i was the only one who actually believed that.

Gonna be thinking about this lede for a minute.
(RNS) — Last month, the Rev. David Black stood in front of a Chicago-area U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility and spread his arms wide. Adorned in all black and wearing a clerical collar, the pastor looked up at a group of masked, heavily armed ICE agents on the roof and began to pray.

“I invited them to repentance,” Black, a minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA), said in an interview. “I basically offered an altar call. I invited them to come and receive that salvation, and be part of the kingdom that is coming.”

But when Black began to lower his arms a few seconds later, the agents responded to his spiritual plea by firing pepper balls, or chemical agents that cause eye irritation and respiratory distress, video footage shows. One struck Black in the head, exploding into a puff of white pepper smoke and forcing him to his knees. Fellow demonstrators rushed to his aid, and as the pastor rubbed his face in pain, the agents continued to fire.

“We could hear them laughing,” Black said.

Last time she ran as a pro-Trump Democrat, got a truly amazing amount of money in contributions, burned through it all and lost by 20 points anyway. Big nope!

ICYMI— I’m Running for Senate

I’ve spent my life stepping up when the mission was tough and the stakes were high, and that’s why I’m stepping up again.

Our democracy is under attack, and we deserve a senator who won’t bow to Donald Trump or Washington insiders.

To be absolutely clear: if ICE or DHS says something happened, it almost certainly didn't happen.

And even if it did, at this point, the burden is on them to produce evidence. Anybody who gives them even the least benefit of the doubt hasn't been paying attention.

More reporting about how that ICE raid in South Shore might have been as much about evicting all the residents of the building for Wells Fargo as it was to kidnap migrants without due process.

it's funny how they've gone from "government so small you can drown it in a bathtub" to "we're from the government and we're here to help"

Q: Do Democrats not have reason to be concerned that there are long-term plans by this administration to keep troops in American cities?

LEAVITT: Why should they be concerned about the federal govt offering help to make their cities a safer place?

Given how many facts you have to navigate around in to create this narrative of, "unchallenged progressive supremacy," I'm inclined to believe you're simply a liar, but I guess it's possible you misinterpreted the last decade of politics, so tell me; were these lies of omission, or simply ignorance?

What about her decision to campaign with Liz Cheney and Barbara Pierce Bush in a failed attempt to target moderate Republicans? Or her position on Gaza, which was the number one reason that Biden voters gave when asked why they stayed home in 2024? You really believe this isn't relevant information?
“The top reason those non-voters cited, above the economy at 24% and immigration at 11%, was Gaza: a full 29% cited the ongoing onslaught as the top reason they didn’t cast a vote in 2024,” wrote Ryan Grim at Drop Site News, the first outlet to report the news.

Similarly, you attribute Harris' failure to one position she took in 2015 and a single attack ad based on it, but ignore her centrist campaign based around tax credits for homebuyers and small business owners. Do you really think this tepid, middle-class campaign wasn't a factor in her loss?
From this liar's article:
"In that context, Kamala Harris’s promise to the ACLU that she would support taxpayer-financed gender-transition surgeries for prisoners and detained migrants received little attention—it was just one more edgy, leftist policy commitment in a campaign that consisted of little else, and her floundering candidacy soon dropped out of sight.
This promise seems to have played a large role in Harris’s doomed presidential campaign five years later."

I'm leaning towards liar, since you attribute Biden's success to his status as moderate and ignore the fact that he ran an economically populist campaign (which Sanders wrote for him). You also don't examine the implications of his complete failure to deliver on that platform.
From this liar's article:
Debates turned into contests over who could treat undocumented immigrants more generously or promise a more sweeping domestic agenda. Biden, whom most Democrats and reporters alike had left for dead, won the race largely because he, as the only well-known candidate who had not abandoned the Obama legacy, occupied the ideological ground where most of the party’s voters remained.
pjwestin.bsky.social
"After almost a decade of nearly unchallenged supremacy, the progressive movement’s hold on the party is no longer certain."

Hey, quick question, are you stupid or just a liar?
