The dance party and inflatable costumes are doing more than just making the narrative from noem and trump look stupid. It’s also debunking years of the Aaron schmautz, Gonzalez, PBA/PMC and others blaming protestors and calling them violent. Keep it up.

The fun thing about inflatable costumes is that they can fit over other safety gear, respirators, etc.

Just an extra, whimsical little layer of protection.

The NYC Ya Basta Collective used similar tactics in the US in 2000-2001, choosing very colorful and soft outfits, bouncy accessories and silly activities involving kazoos and balloons. Not quite Clown Bloc, but in a festively padded style!

Tute Bianche was an Italian based tactic/bloc during the anti-globalization movement of the late 90s. They wore snuggly padded outfits, white coveralls and carried inflatables in various configurations. Very fun, so soft!

Mostly I appreciate the frog because it’s the epitome of #BeTheSpectacle. When the local @popmobpdx.bsky.social organized that protest the entire point was to deny the Proud Boy hordes the spectacle they were hoping to provoke. It’s same now with ICE.

This is likely very upsetting to the federal agents at the ICE facility.

They were probably looking forward to having a batch of fresh-faced Oregonians join them in their mission of brutalizing and disappearing Oregonians.

A couple hundred are here at ICE in South Portland. The people from the No King march who drove here seemingly swelled the ranks. The marchers don’t seem to have arrived yet but tear gas is out.

This is quite a bad sign and it’s also a clear sign of the escalation going on in downtown LA that the LA PD and federal forces are starting to arrest members of credential media like CNN. This was something police did hear in Minneapolis and Portland as well in 2020 at the height of the fighting.
