I know it's awful to hear "everyone is waiting for you to die". But it's not worse than the bone-deep awareness the rest of us have that nothing will ever be for us until our parents die.
All the wealth, power, influence, and attention has flowed to them for so long, and they still feel entitled.

I had to tell the Boomers nobody can afford to give them grandchildren, and it's common sentiment that everyone is waiting for them to die so we can actually DO SOMETHING.
