I dunno. Maybe I'm just being sensible. But I've cut away or distanced myself from former friends, in one case a lifelong friend, because I realized their bigotries made them unsafe for me to associate with.
It's hardly a bigger deal to block or unfollow a few people I once respected on here.

Recent events on Bluesky have made me want to withdraw into an extremely close-knit circle of friends and to become extremely stingy and suspicious of anybody else. To retreat into a metaphorical bunker and try to ride out all this evil nearly alone. It feels like the only sane choice for me.

I went in *knowing* what I was doing - it was not my first exposure to traumatic imagery, I had been trained previously - and it still something I'm not going to get over.
