This clip is really bad. Absolutely hollow. But important to remember also that as this tech becomes "better" and more advanced, simply it being "bad" isn't going to cut it as a rhetorical argument. Slop like this must be opposed because it's fundamentally anti-human, regardless of "quality"
The only thing less human than these AI dub performances is the decision to sign off on them

A company this big can pay human actors a decent wage, not produce slop that intentionally removes the human element.

the political policy cure for “male loneliness” is

- more time to hang with the fellas (4 day work week)

- more money to spend with the fellas (higher wages)

- more things to do with the fellas (taxing the rich and building 3rd spaces)

In my opinion, the #1 most important thing you can do to improve your digital mental health is to stop using #Google #Search. There are plenty of good alternatives. No, not #Bing.

www.startpage.com and www.ecosia.org are my favorites.

This is a clear, true, & important distinction that many people refuse to make.

The same is true of "fancy city dwellers condescending to hard workin' ruralites."

The same is true of "wokesters forcing you to use pronouns."

These are RW bogie men. RW hysteria exceeds actual examples 1000/1.
Men are not constantly being told “you’re bad,” they are constantly being told “LEFT WING SJWS THINK YOU’RE BAD” by conservative propaganda. There’s a huge difference.
I have two sons, and I don't think I've ever seen messaging going "Don't be a boy" or "YOU'RE BAD."

Sure looks like that's in "I heard someone say that they heard..." territory, rather than actual direct experience.

Also worth noting, the main message from manosphere influencers is "YOU'RE BAD."

This is why @senategabe.bsky.social keeps hammering Senate Democrats for not matching their rhetoric with observable action.

There's no excuse for helping confirm Trump's nominees, none.
16 Dems just voted to confirm Trump's ambassador to China, David Perdue:

Booker (D-NJ)
Coons (D-DE)
Duckworth (D-IL)
Fetterman (D-PA)
Gallego (D-AZ)
Hassan (D-NH)
Kaine (D-VA)
Kim (D-NJ)
King (I-ME)
Klobuchar (D-MN)
Peters (D-MI)
Reed (D-RI)
Rosen (D-NV)
Shaheen (D-NH)
Slotkin (D-MI)
Warner (D-VA)

States like Indiana, Ohio, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and more drew even bigger crowds than on 4/5. We’re in awe of you, America. You know you did something right when even Fox News is covering it. Wow!! We love you!

"Populists exploit ad marketplaces, using them to bypass traditional media gatekeepers and deliver tailored messages to susceptible audiences. Foreign actors do the same, microtargeting divisive content to fracture our social fabric along existing fault lines."

What If We Made Advertising Illegal?
What if we banned all advertising? Not regulate it—abolish it. This proposal would transform manipulation machines, and maybe save democracy itself. A thought experiment worth considering.

This is funny. And the serious problem with the NYT is it misinforms about reality. Not with inaccuracy so much as emphasis, perspective, and framing. That makes it a bad news source. Go to the Guardian, or Wired, or others/ independent sources. You don't need the NYT or LA Times, or WaPo.

I have to remind people once again.

Please stop engaging with posts that enrage you. Obviously, rage bait posts aren’t worth your time. Don’t give these trolls a platform.

Block and move on.

I was at a punk show in 83 where a skinhead jumped up on stage and gave a Nazi salute.

The bass player hit him with his bass, knocking him into the crowd and 150 people collectively hauled his ass out of the venue and threw him in the mud.

This was the right and only appropriate response.
If you are at an event where someone on stage gives a Hitler salute and that person is not dragged off by security and kicked out, you are at a Nazi rally.

Good question. 🧪
Why Democrats Won’t Throw a Real Punch
Faced with existential threats from the right, the Democratic leadership remains timid; faced with demands for justice from the left, it goes on the attack.

For those asking where the Dems are, I might suggest: the right didn’t wait on the Republicans. They plotted the course & the Republicans followed, at first in small packs, but eventually all falling in line. The left may have to do something similar. Don’t wait on “the Democrats”. Show them the way

Democratic politicians, you tried to be civil, and this is where we find ourselves. The American people are telling you the time for civility is past. The GOP has declared war on democracy. It is time to go to war.
