Believe it or not, there are many Canadian TV shows that get renewed and air for multiple seasons that never get picked up and distributed in America at all. And lots of Canadians watch them, and they win Canadian Screen Awards & their existence doesn’t depend on America noticing.

It’s tragic that we get assigned a gender identity at birth based on their genitals. It’s even more tragic when someone is assigned that at 29 without being given any agency in that decision. Informed consent HRT is a revolution in medicine and we should embrace it whole heartedly.

A neighborhood local introduced himself to me today, older guy. Told me he was intersex, diagnosed at 29, and given male hormones to take for the rest of his life without any discussion about what he might actually prefer. Said that inside he’d always felt more like a girl.

I am so sick of wading through COVID research as someone trying to prevent spread. I am now tired of saying to comrades: "What would Alice Wong have wanted?" I am weary from even thinking about trying to approach medical providers about taking basic precautions.
