PBOT Director Millicent Williams (6:20-6:50)
PBOT Director Millicent Williams will share her vision about bicycling in Portland and engage in conversation with the committee about matters related to bicycling.

SE 122nd Avenue (6:50-7:20)
PBOT Project Manager Bryan Poole will provide an update on the projects happening on 122nd Avenue, timelines, and share the design considerations for the segment of 122nd between Powell Boulevard and Foster Road where a road diet is being proposed. This project last came to the BAC in February 2025.

TSP “3 Wishes” discussion (7:20-7:50)
In a follow up to the September BAC meeting at which Senior City Planner Francesca Jones presented on the TSP, the BAC has an opportunity to develop their “3 Wishes” feedback that will help shape the vision and goals for the future of Portland’s transportation system. As noted in the September BAC meeting notes, and TSP presentation, the wishes should be high-level, affirmative (what you want to see), and why the wish is important.

This is a big deal because public space only works if the public shows up, and having food trucks and other types of vendors at parks will encourage people not only to visit, but to stay there and hang out a while.

This is a five alarm fire.

Serious implications here: a sitting governor saying basically that the U.S. president is planning to use the military to overthrow democracy in America.

Pritzker: "He wants to militarize major cities because he wants us to get used to the idea of troops on the streets. I believe he's gonna post people outside of polling places and if he needs to in order to control those elections, he'll assume control of the ballot boxes & count the votes himself"

These products are not legal to sell, period.
@bikeleague.org and @peopleforbikes.bsky.social could probably put most of these folks out of business for less than $20K in legal fees.

Totally agree!

I've had luck sending nasty letters to these companies and CCing the Secretary of Commerce in Oregon based on the fact that they are also (often times) not paying the Bike Tax required. Many just stop selling to Oregon.

Who has this photo of a bear in sombrero???
Noem’s motorcade then drove out of the facility past a handful of protesters on the street outside, including one dressed as a bear wearing a sombrero.

Everything is stupid and dangerous right now, *but* we have an opportunity to make a least one thing less stupid and dangerous.

Please submit a comment to the PDX city planners asking them to prevent any further expansion of liquid fuel storage at the CEI Hub and mandate a fuel drawdown.

Amazingly, our Vancouver visit has coincided with the construction of Canada’s very first Dutch-inspired fietsstraat (“bicycle street”).

Burnaby’s Frances-Union Bikeway is currently getting an all ages and abilities upgrade that treats cyclists as the main users of the corridor, and cars as guests.

CNN: “An older couple making $85K/year will see their yearly insurance premiums jump from $7K to $25,000 — 30% of their income.” 😳#TrumpShutdown #TrumpHealthCareTax

This is what Dems are drawing attention to and want fixed. Now, not later.

Shaming our political leaders for trying to do their jobs better is why we're in such shambles.

If you don't want our leaders to learn from the best (and often that means learning from cities OUTSIDE the US), you might as well be waving a white flag.

So 100 private and public officials went to the twin cities on a STUDY TRIP with the Metro Chamber and there's no media outrage? No "junket" articles? Or what about the state legislators who went to Vietnam? No?

Hmmm 🤔

Mentions that police shouldn't be bothered to do speed checks.

Hmm. I wonder if there's an AUTOMATED means of enforcing speeds. Maybe like a SPEED CAMERA? 📷

This guy should be out of a job.

Listening to Federal Way's traffic engineer explain why a speed limit reduction isn't likely on a street next to a school after a serious crash - on a street where drivers are exceeding the 35 mph limit.

"It was a tragic situation that occurred out there...but realistically it's an outlier."

@tinakotek.bsky.social should call Gavin and tell him to pass SB 79, for god's sake.

Oregon is no longer in a position to take your "aspiring actors" turned yoga instructors/scented candle entrepreneurs.

I called the governor to ask him to sign SB 79. It was easy and it only took a few minutes.

One thing that the Swiss historically pointed to as why transit was so popular in referenda is that people who couldn’t drive (women and the elderly) are far more represented in a referendum than in a legislature or bureaucracy which tend to be filled disproportionately with able bodied men.

Reflections on last week's #WeekWithoutDriving in a city that still refuses to acknowledge the existence of its nondrivers — which a comprehensive new report claims make up one-third of LA's population
One-third of Angelenos do not drive
Walking back the "car-free" games promise is unconscionable in a city where the people who don't drive are also the most vulnerable users of our streets

Imagine if a water pipe broke and the water department had to ask city council whether to fix it and then spend 12 months asking everyone on the street their opinion of how to fix it before they could start work.

That's how cities manage curbs.
