There is a LOT of filming going on and reporting out where feds and ICE are in DC. I know everyone means to be helpful when sharing that information, so I encourage everyone to get up to speed on the SALUTE method, which allows us to share info that is precise and doesn’t sow more fear.
S.A.L.U.T.E DOCUMENTATION
S size: How many agents/ officers/vehicles?
A Activity: What are the agents doing? Knocking on doors? Detaining someone? Attempting to enter private property?
L Location: Give an exact address, intersection and/or landmark.
U- Units: What letters, details, or patches are visible on the uniforms/jackets/vests/vehicles? Plainclothes? Masked?
Pretending to be police? Refused to identify themselves?
T -Time: What is the date and time? This info should be shared quickly.
E-Equipment: What did agents have with them? Any weapons, flexicuffs, dogs, door breakers, LAD sound cannon, vans, SUVs, etc. Document vehicle details especially plates!

For a template go to salute.kyr.digital/en OR scan the QR code.
The generated message is what you can use when communicating with the hotlines!

I tweeted (maybe facebooked?) that I had gotten the last 2 tickets to a Neko Case show in DC and asked if anyone wanted to go, and that is how @malindafrevert.bsky.social and I became friends IRL

One time the Puppy Bowl was sponsored by Bissel and they were heavily advertising a new carpet cleaning machine (this is before the green one). I tweeted about wanting one and Bissel responded asking me to DM them my address and then they sent me a free carpet cleaning machine.

i don't think the news media believes that things actually happen anymore

they're only aware of people *saying* a thing happened, and perhaps some other people saying something different

but the thing itself? they all suddenly become hardline kantians: "no no no, we can't perceive the *noumenal*"
marisakabas.bsky.social
no they're LITERALLY exaggerating this issue. there is absolutely no data backing up their claims. ffs just say that!!
NBC news: The discussions come as Trump has sought to deploy National Guard troops in several major cities — including Los Angeles, Chicago and Portland, Oregon — saying they’re needed to reduce crime and protect Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials from protesters. Critics have said that the Trump administration is exaggerating issues in those cities.

NEW: It’s… another abortion pill lawsuit against the FDA, this time filed by Louisiana and an individual plaintiff, who argue the FDA should reinstate an in-person dispensing requirement for mifepristone.

And if you guess Alliance Defending Freedom might be involved here, you guessed correctly.

Stephen Miller has a theory of this moment, a theory of how to do fascist politics in a (teetering) liberal democracy, and Dems need to grapple with it. Do Dems have a theory of this moment that's matched to the challenge of authoritarian politics? I don't think they do:

Maybe this is naive of me but I had figured that if the fed gov straight up blew some people up it would *have to* provide an explanation to Congress, statutorily. Is “yeah we did that shit and we won’t answers questions about it” really an option under the law?

Add it to the tally.

Seems like we’re getting up to 20+ grand jury no true bills just from what I’ve seen. Absolutely remarkable.

not the point, but Mike Johnson saying that they should have had Lee Greenwood instead of Bad Bunny is the most boomer-ass shit on the planet, and Mike Johnson is *solidly* Gen X (b. 1972)

This is an incredibly obvious instance of projection and mirroring, revealing how Casey Babb thinks of both Bari Weiss and Van Jones not as individuals but as fungible and replaceable assets (tokens?) within a general category.
nkalamb.bsky.social
A useful illustration of the limits of liberal identity politics.
It's astounding to see self-described progressives lose their minds over the successes of a Jewish female entrepreneur and intellect in @bariweiss, and a wildly successful Black man in @VanJones68. I guess equity, diversity, and inclusion don't mean as much as they've told us.

Good reporting on the South Shore raid from South Side weekly here.

Confirms one thing I was told but didn't put in my own piece because I didn't have a second source and it seemed too insane: border agents segregated arrested residents by race

Families were woken by flashbangs and helicopters as hundreds of federal agents raided their homes. Days later, neighbors are still searching for the missing.
