It's funny to think that my preference for urban living in areas with dense, mixed-used, walkable neighborhoods, multi-family housing, small businesses, and diversity probably stems from Sesame Street. Like an early education in Jane Jacob's urbanist theories.

When I was in middle school (mid '90s), I had to do a music + slideshow presentation for Earth Day. I had the idea to use Tom Lehrer's "Pollution". The only problem was, the only version we had was on an old tape reel, which my dad had to teach me how to dub to a cassette tape. Worth it!
My last living musical hero is still my hero but unfortunately no longer living. RIP to the great, great Mr. Tom Lehrer.
