In an interview this week, Ken Sim said that he had a list of all the times he said no to the Vancouver Police Department, and said a lot of their budget increases were out of the city's control.

We got the list. We looked at the budget.

Here is a fact check.

BC just approved Ksi Lisims LNG. This project threatens ecosystems and human health, locks us into decades of expanded fracking and burning of fossil fuels, and ignores Indigenous consent.
B.C. just approved one of its largest LNG projects yet.

Ksi Lisims LNG will ship 12M tonnes of gas a year overseas. Ministers say it will benefit the Nisg̱a’a Nation — but also admit it will worsen greenhouse gas emissions.

Annual downstream GHG emissions from Ksi Lisims will be roughly equivalent to HALF BC's total annual emissions, and about 1/20th of Canada's total annual emissions.

An environmental assessment process that can't take that into account is broken.
