I was recently reintroduced to the term "Totalitarian Kitsch" and that's exactly what all of this is. All the worship of 50s magazine ads, trad-wives, and grade school Thanksgiving pageantry, and the work to eliminate anyone who doesn't fit in with or celebrate those things.
