The "hard-men" of Gondor were getting their shit kicked in until they were rescued by foreigners and a girl.
The Shire was doing fine until they let a fascist demagogue ("Sharkey" aka Saruman) take over, close the gates, impose a bunch of thug-enforced rules, and despoil nature for profit.

We’ve been without cats for nearly a year since the last of our two died, but now we have kittens again (4 months old so in between kittens and young cats). That’s Stevie on the left and Sid on the right, the rescue charity named them and we’re keeping those names. They are adorable.

Liz Truss is in Hungary.
And she tweeted this without a shred of apparent irony.
It's her friends and family I feel sorry for.

What the fuck, Mind? Have you not read the Samaritans' reporting guidelines on suicide?
This is a grossly irresponsible way to talk about suicide and mental health, so it’s absolutely stunning to see a mental health charity doing it.
What on *earth* are they playing at?!

Bara Brith
I have a particular fondness for Bara Brith, the traditional Welsh fruit-speckled tea bread. My late sister Thomasina lived and worked in Wales, and my first taste of it came courtesy of her next door...

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.
This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Hamas fighters kidnapped the Bibas family because they killed or took hostage virtually every civilian they came across on the 7th of October, regardless of their nationality, faith or gender. This was not an aberration, it was part of a consistent modus operandi.
