Twitter is the new Radio Télévision Libre des Mille Collines (RTLM).
Trump guys on Twitter are using Grok to “hunt” daycares in their nearest city to see if there are kids in them and, if there are, if they’re Somali.
This is so fucking dangerous.

I used to live just a short walk from there, miss it some times. Some of the neighborhood thugs would throw M-80s to see how hippies and scholars would react to gunfire. No real experience parking or driving there, no memory of the parking lot.
Can confirm the Berkely Bowl is in fact a barbarous den of chaos that would make the denizens of Tortuga hide their eyes in shame.
Ever since I was a little girl I dreamed of having my tweet aggregated by a meme account with 4 million followers, none of whom believe that the Berkeley Bowl parking lot is this lawless 🥹🥹🥹

Since we got stuck on it, Minnesota politics, the difference between centrists that might occasionally have a viral quip on the media and true progressives. Walz won’t be mourned like this, because he’s never fought for anything. youtu.be/sZu_BvkEYbU

NEW: Our reporter visited a potential source’s home, where he introduced himself as a reporter and they had a pleasant conversation.

A few days later, VA Secretary Doug Collins sent out a tweet that accused our reporter of trying to “stalk” the employee.
Our Reporters Reached Out for Comment. They Were Accused of Stalking and Intimidation.
Our journalists reach out to people they’re writing about to ensure fairness. But in this environment, they’ve found their efforts to do so are more likely to be vilified than appreciated.

Really weird to see the United States Attorney General commenting on an active grand jury investigation—let alone referring to a potential subject of that investigation as a “bad actor.”

It’s not going to satisfy anyone who already bought a ticket to ride the Tarsands Timmy Train, but I asked Google a simple Q: “Compare and contrast Paul Wellstone’s fight against powerlines and Tim Walz’s opposition to Enbridge Line 3”

Tarsands Timmy Walz needs to pass the torch to a generation that believes in science, keeping agreements, and not abusing the process to try for higher office when your failing at the job at your current level. He ran against the DFL endorsed candidate. Boot him out if he doesn’t go with dignity.

I know it's very difficult to extricate yourself from the Google and/or Apple* ecosystems completely, but every move you make in that direction is worth it. I've been working on it for a month or so now - you don't have to do it all at once

Google is hosting a CBP app that uses facial recognition to identify immigrants, while simultaneously removing apps that report the location of ICE officials because Google sees ICE as a vulnerable group. “Big tech has made their choice.”

I’ve seen no serious engagement from senior Dems about what, exactly, they plan to do in terms of reasserting congressional power, as in identifying the available tools and thinking seriously about ways to use them to dig us out of the current state of total constitutional collapse.
Pelosi: "Right now, Republicans in Congress have abolished the Congress. They just do what the president insists that they do. That will be over as soon as we have the gavel."

This is the world Justice Kavanaugh sanctioned in his foolish & unnecessary concurring opinion to the Court’s order in Noem v Vasquez Perdomo. His hopes of cleaning up that blunder with a plaintive footnote in last week’s concurring opinion in Trump v. Illinois, demonstrates his staggering naïveté.

Chicago resisted. Protests came with a price. Bruises from pepper balls and fits of sickness from the tear gas. But also the shattering of illusions and loss of faith that what they witnessed could not happen in America. It did and is happening in America www.chicagotribune.com/2025/12/28/c...

But if you look at the history of how every single one of those decisions are then used and cited for years (and sometimes decades) later, they end up helping marginalized people in aggregate *far* more. This is because speech restrictions are *always* weaponized more against marginalized people.
