Come what may, I will bet on us, every time, because there is no other bet worth placing. I am all in, fam. I will never stop looking for openings and aiming at them. I will never stop reaching for people and saying, “Take my hand. We can do this.” Because we are worth it.

My two hot takes for the day:

We're capable of caring about more than one thing at once. Some of us can multitask.

-AND-

We can't carry the weight of every crisis, every second, every day. It's impossible.

This kind of anti-Indigenous racism amounts to genocide and it is being carried out by settler governments in so many places.

I mean there were cops walking, cops on motorcycles and ATVs, cops on horses, cops on boat floats, cops on big as militarized trucks, fire trucks…., and like four drag queens…

I went to Houston Pride yesterday and while it was nice to hang out and dance with my friends…, there were sooo many cops. Half of the actual parade were cops.

A reminder that Pride was an uprising against police surveillance and violence, particularly of and against trans folks, sex workers, and People of the Global Majority. It was called Gay Liberation Day before it was called Pride.

Let’s embrace our queer roots again.

This how I know black folk and white folk live in different realities. Because I coulda told you in my teens that some people in this country have so much hate in their hearts that they’d burn this country to the ground just to be rulers over ashes, if it meant people they don’t like get hurt more.

Instead of immediately yelling at a child to stop doing something, maybe explain to them why you don’t want them to do or touch said thing.
6. If you don't have kids, give a piece of parenting advice anyway based on your observations and the fact that you used to be a kid.

"This is not who we are"
"This is not the country I grew up in"
"This is not what America is about"

All of these kinds of lines say nothing about current events or this country and everything about you, the privileges you enjoy, and the lack of work you've spent deconstructing them to see truly.
“This is not America.”

Yes the fuck it is. Only people that say that ahistorical shit are people with an insane amount of privilege. NOW they’re scared.

I hate that photo so much because at the end of day we are gonna be the ones most impacted by this shit.
I hate that picture of the Black women on the roof watching everything burn so much, dawg. Like loathe it. It’s extremely goofy. Foolish. Shortsighted. Lacks awareness.

Hi I used to work at Starbucks customer service: if you call or email about this, they are absolutely tracking those numbers, and a sufficient amount of public pushback does make them rethink shit sometimes, so now would be an EXCELLENT time to let them know they’re being ableist shitheads

This country’s downfall will be its devotion to white supremacy.. and the world will be better without us.
We can't stop Ukraine from getting weapons. We can only stop Ukraine from getting US weapons. Europe stepped in.

We can't stop Sudan from getting life saving infant formula. We can only stop Sudan from getting US infant formula. China stepped in.

We can't stop Cambodia from clearing mines. Etc
China steps In to replace USAID
China has provided funding for landmine clearance in Cambodia days after work was halted by Donald Trump's freeze on USAID payments, one group said.

I hate Trump supporters with all my heart and soul. People are going to die. The FDA is not tracking baby formula anymore. Clinical trials are all canceled. My nonprofit is paying the tuition of one girl’s final year of her PhD because her fellowship was just canceled. I hate them

Absolutely not. Harvard has quietly shut down almost all Palestinian programming on campus. The directors of the Middle Eastern Studies centres were removed from their posts. The law school has cut back DEI initiatives. Claudine Gay is still fired.

Don’t be distracted.
I'm very grateful to @harvard.edu for taking a stand today for academic independence. In solidarity and appreciation, I just made a donation. For those who are able to, I hope you consider it too... They need to know that they have community support www.washingtonpost.com/education/20...
Harvard hit with $2.2 billion funding freeze after rejecting Trump’s demands
The administration demanded changes to policies and governance due to allegations of antisemitism, illegal DEI. Harvard called the directives unconstitutional.
