Whatever groups Good may or may not have been a part of have no bearing on what happened the day she was killed. Nor would her membership in any group justify her killing.

This is not an investigation. It's authoritarian propaganda.

I'm the daughter of two lieutenants colonel. If you're from a civvie family, you're not gonna get why this is so horrifying right away, so let me explain:

This trick only works once.

After which your enemies must assume that ALL civilian vehicles are actually combat equipment.

And they attack.
Breaking NYT:

The Pentagon used a secret aircraft painted to look like a civilian plane in its first boat attack, according to officials briefed on the matter.

The laws of armed conflict forbid combatants from feigning civilian status.

That is a war crime called "perfidy."

When I teach the Nuremberg Tribunals, almost no one gets the hidden 4th crime: conspiracy to commit any one of the other 3. This was an innovation straight from American law, and was how many of the political and propaganda officers were convicted of what were formerly 'only' military crimes.
This entire administration should be subject to RICO charges.

Donald Trump is now using DOJ to threaten the Fed Chair. Threats to an independent Fed impact market stability, inflation, costs, your retirement, and employment—things Americans cannot afford. This is clearly an abuse of power.

Trump can't outright fire Fed Chair Jerome Powell (SCOTUS said so in the MSPB/NLRB case), so he has to create "cause." That's what this investigation is about, as I mentioned here: bsky.app/profile/muel...
Trump is totally going to fire him, but b/c SCOTUS has said in an unrelated case that he can't, Trump has installed his favorite IG - Horowitz - who "lost" the Bove whistleblower complaints at DoJ, as the new Fed Reserve watchdog. Probs to look into that building cost flub where Powell corrected him
Powell: "Increased tariffs are pushing up prices in some categories of goods. Near-term measures of inflation expectations have moved up on balance over the course of this year on news about tariffs."

I've stopped calling Trump a "would-be dictator." I just say "dictator" now. The news about Trump weaponizing the Justice Department against Fed chairman Jerome Powell is just the latest piece of evidence that Trump feels unconstrained by laws or rules. He's a dictator until we prove otherwise.

Erich von Däniken is dead. If I have to credit the crazy old racist, I will credit him for writing a book which is the first book I ever read where I went “this is just total bullshit” instead of just accepting everything in books is true.

I can't say this loudly enough: THEY ARE TRYING TO NORMALIZE THE KILLING OF CIVILIANS FOR PARTICIPATING IN FIRST AMENDMENT PROTECTED PROTEST ACTIVITIES.
Homan: "We gotta stop the hateful rhetoric. Saying this officer is a murderer is dangerous. It's just ridiculous. It's gonna infuriate people more which means there's gonna be more incidents like this."

i mean i think a world where the US genuinely break NATO and launch an invasion of Greenland looks so alien to us that we will not be able to understand it
The thing I think folks struggle to appreciate with this stuff tho is however hard it is to wean Europe off US tech is *at least as hard* as it will be for US tech to get back into Europe after that type of transition kicks into high gear

DOOCY: Vance yesterday suggested Renee Good was part of a broad left-wing network. What has your team told you about this? Who is in charge of it?

TRUMP: I haven't seen the vice president's statement but he's generally very accurate. She was an agitator. Probably a paid agitator. She was not normal

TRUMP: No no. People love the ballroom. We need it. If we would've had the ballroom today, we could've had all the oil companies there.
