Tarantino is clearly a sick misogynist who gets off on hurting women.
There's numerous stories of him stepping in to perform violent acts on women in his films whenever he can (face won't be seen)

Kill Bill Is Back in Theaters in a New Version. It’ll Never Play the Same.
The Whole Bloody Affair changed the way I saw Tarantino’s epic revenge film—and so did the reporting about its making.

Also not like Bernie doesn't have a track record of endorsing some absolutely horrible people if they happen to back him.

kind of a minor point but I didn’t like how the kids all have to wear matching outfits and the boys all have buzz cuts

maybe that’s the hairstyle they want, but I KNOW they didn’t kick out identical outfits, I hate when parents (often conservatives) Dre’s their kids up like little dolls
No, it’s because he’s a lying, cocky, murderous, drunk, Trump kiss ass, can’t do his job SOB! There is more but I’ll let you guys say the rest.

Oh man! This paragraph is brutal. The best thing about this review is it's not trying to be mean. It's just listing how bad the writing is.

Too many boards and presidents appear to believe that the value and legitimacy of their university resides in the brand when it, in fact, resides in knowledge and judgment, which in turn resides in the faculty and academic staff.

oral exams are also coming back, I know a few history professors who have brought those back, to some success

essentially give them a prompt to come in and answer with follow up questions that students who used AI or just read Wikipedia and not class materials would be unable to answer
My presumption has been this will all mean a shift to doing everything live (no take home). Is that happening? Impossible?

One of the reasons I am not optimistic about the US in the medium term is that the right’s entire political project for the last fifty-ish years has been the destruction of civic virtue while hypocritically whining about the moral decay of society that they have been actively encouraging
The core problem is that in a state, something has to be sovereign - in a democracy, it is the people - and you can design and tinker as much as you like but there is no way to design around a loss of virtue in that sovereign entity.

If the people keep elected maniacs, no guardrails can hold.
one of the things dr schake and i were both wrestling with in this conversation--i think not really conclusively--is how you maintain the norm of civilian supremacy when the civilians are issuing objectively illegal, murderous orders
