I talk about tech, politics, and whatever else catches my fancy. Do I really need a disclaimer that I work for Nvidia and that I don't speak for the company?
Tech bros (my kind) don't understand what cautionary tales cautioned against. Introducing the new Acme combination space heater and convection oven. Leave the door open if you want a space heater, close it if you want an oven. Also. The oven runs on coal gas and has a dodgy pilot light.
"What if we create the space heater-oven from the famous science fiction cautionary tale, 'Don't splice together space heaters and ovens'".

Meta, YouTube, TikTok and Snapchat know how addictive their platforms can be to teens.

Those are allegations a group of school districts is making against the social media giants, according to a newly unsealed legal filing that quotes the companies’ own internal documents. https://cnn.it/3Xjq5x5

I mean, it is democratic socialism. But it is crazy that we don't expect free childcare or health care, but we expect free fire services, police services, and free roads. Imagine if there was a piece about Kemper Freeman forcing residents to pay for free roads.
You guys realize that taxing people to pay for services isn't socialism, right? This is just how governments work.

Related, I am looking for alternatives to Adobe Lightroom if anyone has good recommendations. I want something that can process colour well while keeping the vibrance, which open source software like Darktable and RawTherapee fail at.

I couldn't watch Overtime with Bill Maher because of how much they get wrong about LLMs and conflating LLMs with intelligence. AI Snake Oil exists as a book, but what would be a good list of things people should know about LLMs?

The bleakest thing about this video is that all the things this guy loves about the UK are relatively cheap and easy to build. Alabama could have a better train system than England inside of 10 years if we decided that was a priority. We are a rich country that chooses to live like a poor one.
