Chequered Ink makes really, really good fonts and the only downside of buying them has been that I now have hundreds of excellent fonts to choose from when I'm trying to borg out the layout for a game.

Chequered Ink makes really, really good fonts and the only downside of buying them has been that I now have hundreds of excellent fonts to choose from when I'm trying to borg out the layout for a game.

for team chat, we started self-hosting Zulip. after a month of using it I'm really liking it! just added integration with GitHub & Zoom too 💙
we use a €6,- p/m Hetzner virtual server. had some help from a web dev friend because the first time you log in to a server is daunting… but also very cool 😎

This is such an idiotic solution! moving Windows frontend components to web-tech was a mistake and it shows. Tech debt must be pilling up at absurd levels and they can’t keep up with the sluggish code anymore. And faster hardware can’t do miracles.
Microsoft says it will always run Windows 11 File Explorer in the background to load it faster

I understand and appreciate why MachineGames put a disclaimer in their Indiana Jones game that the game is depicting nazis for entertainment purposes and does not endorse them, but I want to know who would otherwise see the game where you smack nazis with shovels and think it’s an endorsement

Great example of enshittification: Google now wants to use your Gmail to train AI, but if you opt out (Settings->General->Smart Features->Turn off) not only do you lose *spell check*, you also lose all sorting of emails, so everything goes in one giant inbox. I hate it here

The amount of people I know who have been laid off from games industry jobs and are deciding to leave games entirely as a result is not only extremely saddening (of course), but also genuinely scary. We have lost legitimately thousands of years of knowledge and experience in the last four years.
