Americans showed up in historic numbers last week and proved they're willing to back a party that stands up to Donald Trump.
We cannot have the leader of our party be a man that caves to Trump over and over again. It's long past time for Schumer step aside.

This 1000%.
I am not going to let Schumer and 8 center-right Democrats bring me down. We won on Tuesday. We're gonna keep winning. Just keep telling the stories of what the Trump administration is doing and how it's making lives so much harder, about the corruption, the incompetence, the violence.

If you think the people throwing Great Gatsby-esque parties for themselves, while millions were denied their food assistance, are all of a sudden going to grow a conscience and save affordable healthcare, you clearly have not been paying attention.

The far right took over the GOP through the long process of taking over local and county organizations and the left can do the same. It’s not an instant fix but it actually works.

Join your county Democratic Party! There are shockingly few people willing to show up and those are the people who get to make decisions

I’m thinking about a future when the Democrats regain control over government. They will need to prosecute these war criminals. I know that Trump will pardon them beforehand, but we need to find a way around that — even if that means getting rid of the pardon power altogether.

We have to oust Rob Wittman and turn the district blue.
Based on this by @drewsav.bsky.social, Rep. Jen Kiggans (R-VA02) is in serious danger of losing next November, Rep. Rob Wittman (R-VA01) as well, while all incumbent Dems are safe. And that's BEFORE possible redistricting, which could put VA05 & VA06 in play. bluevirginia.us/2025/11/mond...

It’s clear to me that the Democratic Party as it’s now constituted needs to be taken over — by Democratic voters — in order for it to be the opposition party that we need in this moment. Tuesday night was a good step in this direction.

Many have said that Trump and the Heritage Foundation are trying to roll America back to the 1950s or the 1920s. But with this kind of decor in the WH, they obviously want to turn the clock back to the 1770s before the Revolution.

Reasons to not use AI.
And there are many other reasons I don't use LLMs. They're not reliable, they are built on theft, their creation incurs environmental costs & direct harm to people. The broader societal push to use AI for everything is destructive in countless ways & has horrifying political ramifications.

This is so important. I’m 65 and I write every day. Writing is indeed thinking. I try to exercise my mind and cognitive skills as much and as often as I can. Each year, I set a goal of reading 100 books. I don’t necessarily make the goal, but having the goal motivates me.
This. Especially because I believe that writing is thinking (for me). I don’t want to lose that.
What people do not do, they often lose the ability to do. Which is sometimes fine! In my own life, I don’t have any great need to know how to do some of the math I once learned. But I don’t want to forget how to write.

I became very conscientious about this during COVID. I do puzzles, read hard things or read and watch programming with different normative (or cultural) assumptions etc. I would like to keep what I can. Bananas to come out of the forced mediated world of COVID…and jump into AI.
Exactly, including for the long term for health benefits. Friend of mine did Parkinson’s research at Mayo for decades and he tells me all the time how important it is to stay mentally active to reduce the chances of a whole lot of cognitive decline.

The next target of Trump's retribution:
Federal prosecutors have opened a corruption investigation into D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser.
But the probe could face significant hurdles because of the known facts of the case and recent DOJ turmoil.
This week, the agent leading the investigation was fired.

this has been one of my central arguments the past ten years. the theory underpinning the anti-democratic elements of the american constitutional order is wrong!
The more democratic elements of the American constitutional and economic order are actually throwing up road blocks to Trumpism. Protests and boycotts and low level courts and juries and cetera. Elite actors on the other hand are all too frequently caving. Fascinating study in who actually cares!
