I’m guessing there’s no news from Hawaii about what Luxon thinks about the US actions

We’re going to see @phlaimeaux.bsky.social in March.

Having seen him in Bake Off, if he’s selling his food as merch, let’s hope it’s meringue, and not iced rings

I’ve said it before, but Jonn says it more eloquently; George Michael was the best of us
Today, thoughts inevitably turn to a man whose life and death will always be associated with this time of year – a man whose purity of heart and good works alike contain, I think, the true spirit of the season.
On the true meaning of Christmas
Some notes on the man who to me represents the spirit of the season.

I really wasn’t expecting that many mentions* of New Zealand, @jonnelledge.bsky.social

At this time of the year I can find myself getting maudlin, thinking about the past, and where I was born and brought up

But I find it makes things better listening to old folk songs from the region

Watched Nuremberg last night and was astonished to find out that Christopher Luxon’s uses the same defence for anything that his ministers have done wrong, “I am unaware”, as Hermann Göring used when accused of knowing exactly what went on in concentration camps

If I was running the election campaign for Labour/Greens/TPM I would simply have pictures of the senior National MPs with that “Top 1%” quote. Same for ACT & NZF

Maybe a subheading of “That’s who they are governing for, not you”
Here's our country summary.

Top 1% have 12% of income and 22.7% of wealth.

"inequality remains moderate but has risen slightly in recent years..but shows signs of gradual widening across income and wealth dimensions"

I wish I worked for Christopher Luxon.

He’s set such a low bar for “doing an exceptionally good job” that I reckon I could phone in any minister’s job from my bed, probably before I wake up
"You can go through the process story of who said what, when, and where, but from my point of view the matter's settled. Mark's addressed the issues, I'm very comfortable with that. I think he's doing an exceptionally good job," Luxon said. 👀

If you have 40 minutes to spare on this fine Saturday, I can thoroughly recommend spending it listening to Antidepressants, the new album by @suedehq.bsky.social

Unmistakably Suede, but with post-punk echoes, it’s really, really good

Webbed toes, but only between the second and third

Means I can’t wear those stupid Barefoot Toe shoes, so it’s not all bad
Ok query time. Biology is messy and full of exceptions. How does *your* body differ from the usual expected of you as the human you are? Anything big or small.

My mum has an extra vertebrae, a close friend multiple spleens. One sis is built like she works out but eats like a sparrow.

Do we have anywhere we could put these in New Zealand? Would it be better to ask Shane Jones or Simon Watts?
If the fossil fuel industry didn’t have our president and corporate America by the throat, we could have nice things like this too.

If only this report had been published before the NZ government decided to reverse the 30kph zones …

… they would have ignored it like they ignore all evidence that doesn’t agree with their policies
