The militia is made up of a lot of disgruntled veterans, and it's clear that the Joes who infiltrate the militia are, to a degree, sympathetic toward the incipient Cobra recruits who share their background. All this in a comic that was supposed to sell toys to kids.
Issue 4 of Larry Hama's Marvel run, way back in 1982, established that there was a militia-to-Cobra pipeline well before anti-government militias were on the radar of most Americans. At the end of the story, the militia commander bad guy is killed, not by the Joes, but by his own wife.

Went to a bar in Charleston, SC and sat next to a broad-shouldered gentleman drinking a beer by himself. Noticed that the staff kept popping out of the kitchen to look, point, and whisper in my general direction. Turned out I was sitting next to Dan Marino.

Literally a minute before seeing this post I searched for Thundarr on Trakt, but it doesn't show it on any free or subscription services. But it is indeed on Tubi! I'm almost finished re-watching the '80s D&D cartoon, so now Thundarr is next!

One thing I've appreciated about Strange New Worlds is that off-duty Starfleet officers have thus far worn fairly normal-looking civvies instead of awkward futurewear.

I can't remember which episode of MST3K it was, but there's a host segment where Tom Servo is looking at a Montgomery Ward catalog and calls it "Monkey Ward's," which surprised me because I had never heard anyone call it that before, even though it seems obvious.
