The reason I don’t post pictures of suffering in Gaza even though I’m asked to at times is because I lived through a decade of folk posting basically snuff films of Black people back when we thought we could convince society our lives matter. It convinced no one. But it did fuck up my mental health.

If it didn't make me angry, I am pretty sure this would be mentally devastating to really engage with the idea that *that* is what we have decided to reward with unimaginable wealth while he destroyed the life's work of people who were creating knowledge and willingly working for very little.
