This is really a big thing. A very uncomfortably large part of this country has been given every opportunity to walk away from hate and dictatorship, and they said, "nah." Win or lose, we're going to have to reckon with that.
For me it's not so much dooming as disappointment and anger that for all the things that should have made a difference, we're here again instead of more comfortably ahead.

In a healthy democratic system and political culture, anyone associated with the deranged extremism of people like Marjorie Taylor Greene would be shunned and ostracized - and the party that elevates such forces would no longer be considered a viable option.
