Its also a one time fee, then your server costs and domain name rental. And you'll get a cool custom email address out of it as well.

Ive always been a proponent of building your own shit and not relying on a service.

I support people using whatever pronouns they most identify with. I’d say a more interesting direction on this topic is actually tracing how we get from 他 to 她 (and 它/牠/祂) to TA because that speaks so much more about evolution of language and identity
No thanks to CNN for marginalizing Cantonese in this article about Chinese gender pronouns:

🙄 Set in Hong Kong but first mention of Cantonese is 25 paragraphs in
🙄 Dismisses it as "an informal and colloquial language"
🙄 Writes 他 five times but refuses to write 佢 (Canto)

Soon you may be able to type a new Chinese character: the gender-neutral pronoun | CNN
Chinese pronouns are largely split between female and male – prompting LGBTQ activists to invent their own gender-neutral pronoun. That movement just took a big step forward.

I’m using 佢 on the Chinese side of my ember cards (ordination prayer cards), because that just is my third-person pronoun in Chinese. 他 also is gender-neutral, bye.

UPDATE: We may see the first time English is displaced as the most popular language among Bluesky posters as soon as Americans head to sleep tonight.

Japanese users were close to achieving that feat at 7 am Eastern Time, and their activity is increasing at an exponential pace. This is remarkable.

The Conservative swapped Michael Ma from Don Valley North to replace Joe Tay in Markham-Unionville during the past federal election. This decision came back to bite them in the ass.

Hindsight is always 20/20 eh
Whoa, we have a floor crossing! Conservative MP Michael Ma is joining the Liberals. He’s in the Markham-Unionville seat, in the Toronto suburbs

An experienced organizer I really respect once reminded folks "you can't always win, but you can always, always inflict a cost. Those add up."
You cannot match the size and resources of these organizations that are abandoning trans youth and sacrificing trans lives, but you have one advantage they do not: an ability to maintain a relentless focus upon them.

Make it your work, every week, to think about how you can punish them.

What’s the most significant advice you received from a teacher?

I had a Geology prof who always said “have strong opinions, loosely held”

Be passionate, assess alternatives with conviction, take sides. But don’t fall so in love with your opinions that you can’t change them with better data.

Yes. Greater Bay Area is code for the de-identification of Hong Kong's and Macau's societies with their cultures and languages and the eventual eradication or absorption of dissident elements.

It's political strategy masquerading as economics – highly seductive for corporate shills the world over.
It is very clear that Fujian is central to the PRC plans for Taiwan, both now and in the future. Look at how Hong Kong is being subordinated to Guangzhou through the Greater Bay Area to see how this could happen. Hong Kong is a template for how the PRC wants to get control and what it would do next.

Head's up there is a Bluesky ban scam going around. This account just joined 40 mins ago and send me this DM.

DO NOT CLICK THE LINK.

Bluesky would NEVER send a DM like this and make you scared. This would come through email and would have a more professional email than this.

Stay safe!

Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.
