It is a political decision of the courts to remand protestors to prison who are facing charges of criminal damage, allowing them to spend more than a year in custody when they probably wouldn’t get that as a sentence and when violent prisoners are being released early.

I have a hunch that if you or I were running a website doing this the "urgent contact" would involve door rams and handcuffs so I struggle to see why it can't be slightly more pugnacious than this.
