Just out of the cinema. During the teaser for “Avengers: Doomsday”, three patrons produced and set off fire works while several more started throwing wads of cash at the screen.

Five film critics were beaten to death in the theatre, their bodies dowsed in green Mountain Dew.

But it works especially well as a four-hour epic.

I think it was @bilgeebiri.bsky.social who argued "Kill Bill" can be mapped quite neatly to "The Odyssey."

But the "home" being sought is not a physical location, but instead something more abstract, a journey from fantasy to reality.

"Kill Bill" ultimately boils down to an argument between a mother and a father in living room and a back veranda, in which they are finally forced to be honest with one another.

The final fight between Bill and Beatrix doesn't even have the pair leave their chairs.

At the same time, the show is quoting quite heavily from more modern "X-Men" writers like Grant Morrison or Jonathan Hickman, while draping them in the superficial trappings of 1990s crossovers like "Operation: Zero Tolerance."

It's a really interesting, clever use of nostalgia.

Rewatching "X-Men '97", and fascinated by the show's relationship to nostalgia.

It's in conversation with so much "X-Men" history outside that '90s corridor - both forward and backward.

Really interesting how the team ends up wearing their '70s/'80s costumes by the finale.

It incredible to watch "Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair" in cinemas.

At once Tarantino's most postmodern movie and his most personal, the story of a character's long odyssey from the world of exploitation cinema to a more grounded domestic reality.

Beautiful stuff.

The White House has been caught.

The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims.

In reality, it’s a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Ross’s own children.

The best Cowboy Bebop adaptation ever (like how The Incredibles is the best Fantastic Four movie). Nails the aesthetic and the attitude!
Since we’re talking about space garbage people and Kessler Syndrome, this is also my annual reminder to you that SPACE SWEEPERS is the best and most exciting space movie in the past 5 years AND has awesome trans rep: youtu.be/H1WYnJF1Pwo

this fact is the definitive judgment on kirk's life
ultimately, no one even grieved Charlie Kirk. he was just another thing for the worst people on earth to get outraged over. and when the outrage of real events wasn't enough, they invented new ones.

not even his wife saw his death as anything other than an opportunity.
my read is they were trying to whip up the usual frenzy, but then the effort got blown up by Candace Owens saying The Jews did it
