I can't say this loudly enough: THEY ARE TRYING TO NORMALIZE THE KILLING OF CIVILIANS FOR PARTICIPATING IN FIRST AMENDMENT PROTECTED PROTEST ACTIVITIES.
Homan: "We gotta stop the hateful rhetoric. Saying this officer is a murderer is dangerous. It's just ridiculous. It's gonna infuriate people more which means there's gonna be more incidents like this."

A n'hood assoc. colleague remarked that "getting more housing downtown will be impossible" as the downtown is "already very built up." I hold a different impression of my community, so I took to Google MyMaps to graphically illustrate just how much land in downtown on which there is left to build.

I learned something new here
Never forget that Portland paid for a subway tunnel, but instead of trains it carries runoff from surface parking lots.

The Big Pipe is great for the river, but it's automobile infrastructure.
Atmospheric River means it's time again for the Big Pipe Tracker.

Port of Portland is talking about building 11,000 new car parking spaces. They have a survey where you can tell them this is a bad idea. Or maybe they should try increasing the number of TriMet bus lines to the airport (currently 0), or make biking to the airport safe: app.maptionnaire.com/q/oh2

We know that the risk of death can increase by as much as 20% following the sweep of a homeless encampment. Homeless folks lose their medication, their phones, family, photos, resources, basic supplies when a sweep happens. Homeless folks are more likely to OD after a sweep. Sweeps cause harm.
