I never met Melissa Hortman, but, each in our lane, worked on a bunch of the same issues. No one gets all the credit for legislation, but I think its important for people to understand how much good Speaker Hortman did/led/was a part of. That's something being an aging union guy equips you for 1/12

Trump repeatedly fell asleep during his criminal trial in New York last year. You may not have heard about it much because the media decided that Tim Walz retiring from the National Guard 20 years ago merited more prominent coverage

So the oldest person ever to become president keeps falling asleep in his office during public events and there’s no big public discussion on how this is a coverup or how republicans are lying to us about how this government is running?

"Trump's hurting his own voters!" My sweet summer child, Trump is an abusive man and we (the country) tried to leave him. We did not succeed. And he intends to make us pay for it as long as he is able.

This is ALSO a media story.

Non-white, young, and low-income voters were misled about what Trump would do. Now they’re learning, and they hate it.
Dem gains in this week's elections erased the inroads Trump made with non-white, young, and low-income voters in 2024. In fact, the R-to-D shift from 24 to 25 is double Trump's gains from 20-24. Claims of a GOP political realignment have been highly exaggerated

Trump is fighting tooth and nail legally to deny SNAP to hungry families in the US.

He has murdered hundreds of thousands globally denying USAID food to the hungry outside the US.

Trump is a sociopath who loves killing people.

That is who is in the White House.

Sean Charles Dunn’s moment of culinary resistance — he wouldn't be subservient, one could say — has become a symbol of D.C.’s refusal to accept the federal occupation quietly.

Earlier today, D.C.'s own "sandwich guy" was found not guilty of the charges against him.
How a thrown sandwich became a symbol of D.C.’s resistance
In an already surreal moment, Washingtonians have embraced bread puns, sandwich flags, and sub-themed street art as a form of protest.

I've been covering elections since 1982 and never seen a whupping quite like Tuesday, with Democrats winning everything everywhere from Manhattan to Mississippi

The question now: Does a cornered, wounded Trump double down on dictatorship? My new column www.inquirer.com/opinion/demo...
Will a great night for Dems and democracy mean Trump doubles down? | Will Bunch
It was a Democratic blue tsunami from Maine to Mississippi Tuesday, with the common bond between voters being they think America is way off track.

The AFL-CIO should start throwing some money towards labor journalism. If it was done right (i.e. with them accepting that journalists must have full editorial control over what’s published, whether or not union leaders like what they have to say) it could really have such a hugely positive impact
