I'm old enough to remember when smoking around others was socially acceptable, in restaurants, bars, workplaces etc. Secondhand smoke was everywhere.

Thanks to consistent wearing of N95 or KN95 mask, I have not had any communicable illness since March 2020. This has improved my chronic illness baseline and enabled me to enjoy the outdoors with fewer allergy and asthma issues. I only wish I’d known to wear them sooner.

I'm also #OneOfTheTwo people Jon Stewart mocked. I mask for many reasons, I have moderate asthma, and allergies can trigger it, as can smog and wood smoke, and also because my mom here can't mask due to her disabilities and I want to make sure she stays breathing and alive as long as possible <3

I am not immunocompromised, but I am a researcher and an educator and understand that wearing a mask is effective in keeping you healthy. I mask to keep everyone safe including my children. #oneofthetwo

Enough with the mask bullying. I mask because I understand aerosol transmission, because our governments all declared the pandemic over before cleaning indoor air, because I’m not OK with multiple reinfections of a new virus, because vulnerable people deserve access to society.
