Was curious how high this total would be for the TPL (Toronto Public Library system).

As of now, 188 holds on 9 print copies, and 822 holds on 150 ebook copies of Heated Rivalry.

Just a massively missed opportunity.
Over *400 people* have the first book in the series on hold in the digital queue at LA Public Library.

Harlequin is a buncha dorks.
NEW: It’s not just readers that suffer due to Harlequin’s mismanagement of the' Heated Rivalry' books. Reid misses out on royalties, & booksellers miss out on commissions—which is especially painful during the holiday season when many small businesses make the bulk of their money.

This is a great thread:
This is such a wild instance of leaving money on the table, and yes absolutely screwing over the author. It's also baffling because as much as Harlequin's marketing strategies often fail their authors (next tweet), printing new tie-in editions for locked-in film/TV adaptations is Publishing 101.

Extending the Affordable Care Act tax credits for the next year will cost $23 billion.

Donald Trump was happy to round up $20 billion to bail out Argentina, but Republicans won’t lift a finger to help American families who are struggling to pay for health care.

Indiana’s Senate has voted AGAINST the GOP gerrymander that’d have locked in a 9-0 map.

This keeps the 7-2 map in place, saving two Democratic seats heading into 2026.

The vote failed big, 19/31.

The MAJORITY of the GOP senators opposed it!

WHOA! 21 Republicans joined the Democrats in Indiana. WOW!
The Indiana GOP's new congressional gerrymander failed by a vote of 31-19.

21 Republicans joined the 10 Democrats in voting no.
BREAKING: Indiana Republicans FAILED to pass a new 9-0 congressional gerrymander after enough GOP senators sided with Dems. The GOP's 7-2 map stays in place.

Trump is trying to re-gerrymander maps nationwide. At least 11 Indiana Rs got death threats after he called for primaries—but it still failed

May this finally, finally put to rest any idea that narratives of "illegal" immigration have anything whatsoever to do with legality, laws, "rules" which individuals can "choose" to follow. "Illegal" has always been about white supremacy & prejudice. 🗃️

An immigration attorney told me a few weeks ago a client at the Everglades facility was put in a cage outside all day. A guard was bringing him a cup of water & another took it and dumped it.

The exposure and dehydration is torture in itself, but I didn’t realize the cage was this small. Evil.
They're using the confinement box, one of the most horrific methods of CIA torture in the post-9/11 black sites, against migrants now. This is the direct result of the lack of consequences for the architects of the torture program. Either there will be criminal penalties for this or it will expand.

It is both deeply ironic and profoundly funny that all these overconfident maga chud dudebros are convinced they'll be at the top of a meritocratic system, when in reality they're actually the ones who've benefited most from what they themselves characterize as non-meritocratic factors.
Ending DEI practices in college admissions will expose an uncomfortable truth. Women now outperform men academically.

If universities stop trying to gender balance incoming classes but instead admit based on merit, they’ll reject men at higher rates than they do today.
Trump’s attack on DEI may hurt college men, particularly White men
The Trump administration’s ban on diversity, equity and inclusion also targets gender. The ban may impact gender balancing practices that often benefit college men.
