Thomas Jefferson was 44 when he started in creeping on 14-year-old Sally Hemings. And Sally, who was enslaved, shared a father with Martha Wayles Jefferson—Tom's wife.

He's been dead literally centuries and the US refuses to reckon squarely with what this meant for definitions of American greatness

Teen Vogue eliminated all their Black and trans staff today.

It's resegregation in real time.
today’s information came out piecemeal, and people should be able to share their own situations on their own time, but I could share this much ^ as it is pretty cut and dry on the facts.

Teen Vogue also no longer has any trans staffers as of today.

Long ago, the actor Peter Ustinov described Toronto as "New York run by the Swiss."
Toronto: not an igloo in sight

Ranked one of the safest cities in N.A. even though it is considered the most multi-cultural city in the world where 160 different languages are spoken.

BIG RED FLAG
seeing further discussions on here today about who "counts" (& doesn't count) as "working class voters" who Dems should be pursuing, and it's basically a variant of this dynamic:
...here is that passage, the TL;DR being: whenever someone describes someone or something as "divisive", they are telling you about the imagined "one-ness" they favor (which inevitably excludes others). more about Excluded can be found here: juliaserano.com/excluded.html

Remember when Action4Canada was just a COVID-denial grift? A couple years later, the group pivoted to being anti-trans+ and suddenly there were bible verses on every page of the site, among the many DONATE buttons.
Alberta schools are at the centre of the growing culture war, and the book bans and school pronoun policies can be traced back to far-right activist groups.
