(There are a few reasons why I think this is useful to know: For one, I think in engaging with antivaxxers it’s useful to discuss that episode specifically, because it looms very large. And for another, going “no that’s chicken pox” undermines the fact you should also get vaccinated against that!)

Please do not reply to yell at me about why he’s wrong to do this. I know! My point is, he’s wrong for a different reason than just “he’s got the wrong childhood illness”, he’s likely accurately remembering an actual thing that was wrong at the time.

I have no idea why the states like California are implementing the trans ban. They maintain control of their national guards and Gavin Newsom is in charge. He's done nothing while his command is purging trans people. It plainly violates the California constitution.

I have a lot of thoughts about why people devalue romance and romance writers and have expressed those thoughts in numerous long form places but it is INCREDIBLY telling that people doubt the technical and business savvy of people who work in an extremely feminized arm of publishing.
So I am going to say something about romance as a genre.
