@mcuban.bsky.social As someone who has worked in medical claims clearinghouse tech for decades, the solution is actually incredibly simple. Phase into Medicare4All over time that allows systems to acclimate by lowering the age range in increments of say 5 years every other year w/tiered premiums.

The ACA is not a public option, it’s an insurance marketplace. A public option wouldn’t lead me to pay $600 a month just to have my pharmacy tell me I’m $13,000 short of my yearly deductible. The ACA was a poorly designed and sabotaged compromise to suck the air out of the conversation

"Get the principals on camera" is such a telling phrase here, because it tells us that for Weiss there's no world in which the victims of these horrific actions can actually be seen as the subjects of the story: They're background noise, and the people who matter are the ones sending them.
