Dartmouth is reinstating the SAT. They analyzed their data and found 2 key things:

1) Test scores were a better predictor of success than high school grades/essays/recommendations
2) The test-optional policy was harming low-income kids who would have been accepted

the weirdest part of the disqualification debate is how many people seem to take it as a given that letting a man who just tried to stage a coup run for president is definitively more democratic than not letting him run
one of the strangest things about this piece if you read it is that it takes for granted the idea that trump’s election somehow represented the public will. it also rests on the idea that trump did not try to overturn the results of the previous election through illegal & extra-constitutional means
This country has to be allowed to save itself; therefore the action it just took to save itself must be blocked.
