Revisiting Pokémon Lets Go Pikachu and Evee, and man, that game did a lot right. Expressive animation for people and Pokémon, follow/ridable Pokémon, bringing Mega evolutions back, Pokémon in the overworld. You truly don't know what you got till it's gone

Efficiency means performing a function while consuming less time, energy, or resources.

Eliminating functions isn't efficiency. It's downsizing. Slashing the VA, the National Parks, NASA, or the NIH, is just depriving us of things our taxes paid for.

Wow! What do you use it for?

I was struggling with coming up what to post, with what I wanted this account to "be." But I've come to the conclusion that I should just post whatever and see what happens

Everything I have known and been taught about my own country my whole life is that we take pride in our participation in the defeat of nazism. No economic situation is worth sullying the memories of the men and women who fought for our freedom. Do not flirt with nazism, it will not set you free.

With the way all these companies are bending over backwards to please him before he's even in office, I've got a bad feeling Trump's going to be worse this time. What do they know about his plans that we don't?

Saying again: This is precisely why authoritarians holding office is so dangerous to democracy - people and institutions scale back their opposition for fear of persecution. As a result, Trump will face less opposition and dissent. Democracy depends on respecting the legitimacy of the opposition.

It's fun to be living in a moment when it seems like we are about to enter an era of terrifying authoritarianism OR an era of authoritarian overreach that immediately crumbles and gives way to something better, and these two things might happen simultaneously, and we won't know for sure for A BIT.

The Democrats are about to get taught a lesson about Power Vs Laws and they are gonna try their very best not to learn it because the lesson would make everything they've done for the last 25 years seem ridiculous if it were internalized

“The researchers found that respondents who viewed female athletes as less deserving of attention, support, and media coverage were more likely to oppose transgender inclusion in sports.”
Survey analysis finds people who don't watch women's sports, think they are less deserving of media attention than men's sports, and think women should prioritize being thin are more likely to oppose transgender women's inclusion in women's sports

Just watched a Parks & Rec episode (aired 2013 I think) that used "remove fluoride from water because it is a chemical" as biting satire to make fun of gullible people and it hits different in 2025
