The most unrealistic thing about Batman Returns (1992) is that after the Penguin is caught on tape bragging about being a villain, his citizen supporters immediately turn on him and his backers abandon him... www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Yea...

There is a tongue-in-cheek unit of volume called the Hubble-barn, equal to the volume of a cylinder with cross-sectional area of one barn (100 fm^2 - about the size of a uranium nucleus) and height of one Hubble length (14.4 billion light years).

It works out to three and a half gallons.
Ok folks: what is your favorite fact that you share with people (maybe a bit too) eagerly?

Why am I so unimpressed by these strikes? Israel and the US have failed to target significant elements of Iran's nuclear materials and production infrastructure. RISING LION and MIDNIGHT HAMMER are tactically brilliant, but may turn out to be strategic failures. 🧵 1/17

Pre-emptive war can seem tempting when we believe that a bold strike can be quickly followed by a new peace on more favorable terms. But in the long history of the world, great leaders’ hopes for quick decisive victories have often proved to be terribly ill-founded, as Germans found in 1914.

I shed zero tears for Iranian military personnel working at clandestine nuclear sites. None.

But if you don't think this will result in more Marines on American streets, you're naive.

We are demanding answers.

For Pearl Harbor the US military was not yet at war and had not been in a large war for more than 20 years, it also had no warning communicated until too late that an attack was possible.

The Russian performance was much worse--think of Pearl Harbor happening to the US military in 1944.

The fact Ukraine shot down two really expensive Russians fighters with a cheap sea drone just proves "defense contractors want this war for their profits".

Cos what they really want is for billion dollar defense programs to be shown to be useless against cheap drones.

Serious point: This might be the most interventionist American government in my lifetime. The price of just about every good reflects the good thinking of the Commissars in Washington DC implementing their 5-year plan for National Greatness, rather than market forces.

This "error" means that this regime can pick up any American, anywhere, and ship them to a foreign prison without due process. We should grind this country to a halt over this.

The claim that the destruction of essential civilizational institutions is being done in the name of the Jews is itself a form of antisemitism—cultural vandalism carried out in our name.

That, my friends, is rank bullshit.
