I know I’ve been harping a bit on this, but a journalistic institution that would defend a patently absurd and racist claim such as “Chinese women have small fingers” rather than simply admit error and correct is fundamentally unwell.
lol I just got momentarily hysterical thinking about the fact that the New York Times got its managing director for communications to confirm on a Saturday that it is standing by its reporting that young women in China have tiny hands and this is why Apple has its factories there

So, it’s not a niche issue. Trans rights are human rights. Self determination. Bodily autonomy. Freedom of expression. Full stop. So rights that matter to all of us. Let the govt erode these for trans ppl because they are “niche,” and they erode them for all of us. That’s it.
