People in work are saying my jumper isn’t Christmassy enough. It’s festive! Those are poinsettias! Just because it isn’t 100% polyester and doesn’t have Santa knocking Hans Gruber off Nakatomi Plaza or whatever doesn’t mean it isn’t a Christmas jumper

I should have said they're perfect, fit-wise. They really could use a good soak to even up the stitching. They're not superwash. Some are 100% wool, and some have a strand of mohair held with the wool.

i would say make one but there's way too little time until christmas for that so my main suggestion is to make sure you check the fiber content and find one that's 100% wool/angora/other natural yarn fibers

Despite my overall sleepiness, I have managed to do some crafting!
A small skull doily I started the day a friend died, and didn’t know until the next day, is finally off the hook. Next up: starching and blocking! I think my dearly departed friend would be amused by both the pattern and the timing, were she aware of either. This is my first doily, and I’m not sure yet if I will gift it to her mother (who would also love it) or keep it as a first. The background is a green corduroy couch, and the pattern consists of 8 skulls, framed, around a central daisy. It was from a YouTube tutorial, found here: https://youtu.be/8jjjR9A_AGw?si=xoqAxXdaiURA4GF4 I learned that I like how picots and variations of picots look, but actually working them is super annoying! Two bobbins of white wool yarn on a weaving spool rack, in front of a bookshelf. There is a grand total of 100 g of mystery wool between the two bobbins. The top is 2-ply, with the first bobbin of 50 g as the base, and the bottom is the rest of the second 50 g after plying with the first, and is chain plyed. I’m not really a fan of chain plying, except it’s super useful for bits like this. I had only one break in one of the singles while plying the first bobbin, which is an improvement over previous attempts! I think I repaired the break decently (we’ll see, I might end up taking a needle and sewing thread to it, to lash and secure it in place). I’m not using it for weaving yet, but that’s what I’m working up to, so I’m working on strong joins and no breaks in the singles. This is the first of three warp bundles for the gamp name draft placemats project, done in 5/2 perle cotton with twill as the base pattern. The colors are purple passion and wine tone and the weft will be grotto and deep lavender, all from Astra brand through the Yarn Barn. I’m really excited to see how the color and pattern gamp will work up! I tried to buy local, but I couldn’t find all the purples I was looking for locally, and when I needed bobbins as well, it just made sense to do it as one order and get the bulk discount.

Oh, I'm sorry! I used to give this advice (as a Vermont resident,) to everyone who moved to New England: Make sure you have 100% wool socks. Wear them all the time, even at night.

Agree with that 100%. Can see he’s very talented and like his stuff but wouldn’t seek it out to listen to normally, but it was a free ticket and it was just him and a lady with a cello and it was a seated gig. I absolutely fucking loved it. Very, very funny bugger as well.

Massive WOOL of course.

Not ot mention the price is wool-ish not polyestery

They don't necessarily tell you right out. I find that it's hard to get much non-synthetic clothing now. And I mean 100% non synthetic. Sure, here and there, 100% cotton or wool. About 60 per cent of material made into clothing is plastic, which includes polyester, acrylic and nylon textiles.

Today I opened day 4 of the Artemis Yarns Nereids advent calendar and day 2 of the Haunui 100% wool advent calendar. I also plied days 1 and 2 of the Melly Knits Delightful together. #Handspinning 🧶
Day 4 of the Artemis Yarns Nereids Advent—it is a light purple mini skein of yarn. Day 2 of the Haunui wool fiber advent. The braid is the same Pearl Haunui as day 1 dyed in tones of pink, purple, and orange. There’s an overall orangey tint to the photo because I had turned in the indoor lights—it was an overcast day and I took this photo around sunset. A 3D printed pink spinning wheel bobbin with a brownish grey 2-ply yarn. This is day 1 (Cormo) and day 2 (Cormo + 20% bison) of the Melly Knits Delightful Advent plied together.

UPDATE on the sweaters. So, the material is not wool. Wool would be more expensive and possibly itchy so the material is 100% cotton yarns! As for sizes, up to 4xl will be available!

Days 2 and 3 of my Advent Calendars. The fiber advents are 12 days each, so I’m alternating. I opened the first one from Hauni yesterday (I chose 100% wool). I opened day 2 from Melly Knits today and spun it up (Cormo + 20% bison down). #Handspinning
A mini skein of purple yarn (Day 2 of the Artemis Yarns Nereids Advent) and Day 1 of the Haunui wool advent. It is a braid of undyed white top, aptly called their “Pearl” color. A mini skein of purple yarn—a lighter purple than yesterday. This is the Day 3 yarn from the Artemis Yarns Nereids Advent. A mini batt of carded greyish brown fiber. This is the same Cormo from day 1, blended with 20% bison down. An antique spinning wheel bobbin with spun greyish brown singles. This is Cormo + 30% bison down, which is definitely adding a bit of a halo to the yarn.
