A game company I've done work for has had to finally raise its prices after years of not and perusing comments about it I'm reminded how too many gamers are entitled self important cheapskates who are upset if you price things to make a living.

I did one (for my many, many fans) a few years ago where the camera was inside my fridge late at night. I opened the fridge, grabbed a drink, closed the fridge, re-opened it and said "Cheers...buy a record you cheapskates" Not sure if it got used.

so that's why I have that as an option, even if I'll charge a bit extra for it. The extra charge is partly a service fee and partly a gatekeeper. It's a form of assertiveness that says, my time is valuable--serious applicants only. It can deter cheapskates and time-wasters.

Too many times people are focusing on the crowd that was never going to be hiring you in the first place, the cheapskates and people who would probably get their random ahh friend to do work for them.
You know the people already that come to you for work, so you already know your audience type!

I was rooting for the Jays, but they had the fifth largest payroll so I'm not going to complain about the money aspect.
And a *lot* of teams cry "small market" when they're just cheapskates. They could make their money back on any franchise sale.
