While stupidity is often times the simplest and likeliest answer, the entities that directly or indirectly coordinate these bot accounts wouldn’t do something this transparently ridiculous. They’re getting their ducks in a row. And they can’t just call all of these bot account holders to do this!
While prominent MAGA accounts were revealed to be foreign actors, we need to understand that this was likely not accidental. Twitter and Musk understand these are largely bot accounts, they pay for many of them! This was likely a quick measure to signal to them to use VPNs to shield their locations.
The display, in my opinion, was likely an effort by Twitter to get these accounts to shield their location through VPNs or some other means. It wasn’t some accidental rollout. Musk + others know these bot accounts aren’t in the U.S. They’re trying to get these bot accounts to change their location.
You don’t need knowledge of politics for this specific instance, you need knowledge of neurology. Trump’s brain is a baked potato in the microwave with the foil still on.

Usually the politicians on the fringe are the first to defect when there’s a reasonable suspicion of vulnerability. In this case, it the defections didn’t start in response to stuff like ICE, the economy, or Trump’s dementia. There must be something especially concerning to them about the files.

Bumping some guys down the lineup like Greenway and Kozak, getting rid of the bottom forwards who contribute nothing, and bringing in a vet top 6 would make an insane difference.
The Sabres really don't need a lot of tweaks to their roster - this is what infuriates me the most about Adams. They desparately need to trade for an actual top 6 vet forward. They get too many injuries up front, Tuch/Thompson are too streaky, and their bottom line isn't good.
