Subcontinental solar surge.

India races ahead with record solar surge, installing 17.5 GW between April and August 2025 - more than double last year’s pace. The boom is driven by cheap modules, strong demand and a 143 GW project pipeline.

www.theguardian.com/technology/2... Shocking how can DfT claim “We acted quickly to set up an investigation into defeat devices.” So much unnecessary harm done and still being done by automakers. And this is just one aspect over large over powered cars are another.

Good article re new bike boom. Preferred original headline “Two wheels good four wheels bad”. Nice observation about urban China rediscovering cycling years after the communist revolution - more likely to be a fancy @bromptonbicycle.bsky.social than a Flying Pigeon of the communist revolution days.

If you want an explanation of why China is kicking the EU car industry to the curb, look no further than the criminally knuckle dragging EU car makers demanding new loopholes so they don't have to meet any meaningful low emission targets for cars in the EU.

Lets be honest, taking a bicycle on a train is an absolute pain in the arse, even folding ones. It’s difficult to get them on and off, the storage is extremely poor, and buying tickets is way too complicated.

It didn’t need to be this way, that used to put them in a guards van. Wide doors, simple

Talking of car bloat…

It’s worth remembering this is the limit in weight, which includes passengers and luggage btw, for UK license holder who qualified in or after 1997

Some UK drivers may already be braking the law

Very weight’s maximum for UK car licence issued after 1 January 1997; petrol, diesel and hybrid vehicles is 3500kg and for all zero emission electric vehicles its 4250kg

Government snuck in a change to licences at one point to cope with new electric vehicles, although the cars just kept getting bigger and so that limit is now being tested. It is about time the Government took a stand against the car manufacturers (won’t happen)

Joint pain or osteoarthritis? Why exercise should be your first line of treatment
Globally, osteoarthritis affects nearly 600 million people. Yet fewer than 50% are offered the one proven treatment: exercise.
