The Office of Management and Budget sent a notification to Congress about their intent to use research and development funds to pay members of the military, two sources with direct knowledge tell NBC News.

A spokesperson for the OMB confirmed to NBC News that it plans to use the research and development funds and that there are two years' worth of funds available within the Department of Defense.

this 100%. the coding part of developer interviews has always been near-useless. the architecture part is invaluable.

but with llms all of a sudden some devs act like writing an api, basic sql, or streaming over a map is the most important part of their jobs. it never has been. it never will be.

sure, they get me a dopamine drip

but what really gets those juices flowing is solving important problems

and claude lets me do that way faster and more reliably than i could alone

I think a LOT of AI pushback from developers comes from taking the job too seriously in the ways that don't matter, and not seriously enough in the ways that do.

Claude doesn't write perfect code? Well uh, neither do I? And if you are maybe that's not the best use of your time?
