Patch 1.3, the three year anniversary update for Purgatory Dungeoneer, is out now! The game's also 50% off (so currently $4.99) so it's as good a time as any to check out an RPG about retired adventurers!

A turn-based JRPG battle with several enemies on the left and the player's party of five on the right. The selected enemy is the Cyclops Blackguard, who currently has five status effects with tooltips shown.

Honestly tempting me to make a game jam where the rules/tooltips about moves that you tell the player are really only half of what's happening

I absolutely adore the sheer amount of jank in red and blue.

Huh: TikTok took down my 8-second video featuring this image of Debbie Brockman — the news producer just detained by Trump’s CBP agents — saying it violates the “joy of TikTok”

Pretty sure that when you have giant frogs everywhere, God is very disappointed in how you are treating immigrants.

every video game is just a different type of gay bar
fussybabybit.ch
This the kinda shit people say to me in the smoking zone outside the gay bar
Baroque screenshot of a floating green skirt girl in a dark dungeon telling you "You were extracted from our soul. We are insane. It's your fault we became insane." Same girl as before but now she is saying "You want to cut me? That's fine. You probably want to kill me, right? Then kill me. If you killed me, I think I'd be glad."

the military going "i've had enough of this dude" has historically resulted in some pretty wacky outcomes

Is this the military or is this kindergarten? What's next, demanding your mommy sign a note explaining why you didn't eat your entire MRE?

People get mad my ebooks are $2.99!

“It’s not *real*,” they say, like it didn’t take me at least a year to write.

People get mad my paperback books are $15, like it didn’t take me that time to write, someone to make the paper, print the books, pack and ship.

The huge numonopolistic corporations destroying lives to bring bad products at seemingly low prices has really fucked our perception of what it costs to run a business. Remember if you think something is affordable it's highly likely multiple people in the chain are being heavily exploited & harmed
pepperraccoon.com
Gonna say it again, it costs me tens of thousands a dollars a month to run my business and pay myself an adequate salary, so yeah, it costs well over $1k for 90% of my client projects.

The Wiegraf meme is a pet peeve for me not because it's mistaken for a real screenshot, but because _Milleuda_ should be saying it.

Wiegraf's whole arc is getting jokerfied by his inability to reconcile knight's honor with the radical necessity of his faction. He's not this articulate!

This one from @otomeniki.bsky.social, who argues that Final Fantasy Tactics memes engages audiences in a unique form of reader-response theory. Which *is* art criticism, even if it doesn't *look* like art criticism.

Give it a read and a share!

"don't worry, we'll vote them out in November"

the voting in November:
jayshams.bsky.social
I've been wondering why Dominion Voting Systems suddenly reached settlements with Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, and One America News.

Turns out, it's been purchased by a Republican-owned election tech firm that insisted on it, per Axios.

They really looked at the complaints of how hard the Demi-Fiend fight was as the superboss of the base game and went "ok, we're listening :)"
developerdamien.bsky.social
Been grinding through SMT V: Vengeance and gosh, this is still one of the scariest things to see when you go into the Masakado fight because yes, he's weak to every non-Almighty element, and after the first hit it's clear that it expects you to use your turns well

and then his Press Turn Icons show
The text at the top says "Masakado Weaknesses and Resistances". There's seven icons for Physical, Fire, Ice, Electric, Force, Light, and Dark. All of them say Weak beneath them.

Right, like if I want to see what a person posts I follow or look them up, but endorse is quite the word choice to use

Also I assume that'd be what some people use the feeds/lists functions for but I don't use either lol

Then there's also the considerations for making it both big enough of a world to feel like a world, but keeping things simple enough to be able to be played in half hour sessions

So I guess the overwhelming thing is knowing the expectations of making a commercial project that people'll play lol
developerdamien.bsky.social
It depends on the project; the current thing I'm messing with is a Tactics game but mechanically I'm having a hard time settling on classes, and story-wise I want there to be 12 countries in a large-scale war (mostly perpetuated by one country) that you take mercenary contracts from
developerdamien.bsky.social
not technically the kids of heroes, but Teen Titans was great and close enough to the concept/pre-established world that I think it's worth mentioning
